Where Switzerland Tubes

Ask Google where to tube in Switzerland and you’ll get a list of resort fun-parks. They’re real, they’re fine, and they share one constraint: village-level lanes live and die with village-level snow, which gives most of them a December-to-March life and a slushy edge in warm winters.

The two tiers

Village tubing - fun-park lanes at resort level across the Alps, typically a franc-cheap add-on to a winter day. Right when you’re already at that resort with kids and an hour to burn; not worth routing a trip around.

Glacier tubing - lanes on permanent snow at serious altitude. This tier is rare, and Zermatt’s SnowXperience Plateau Rosa (3,458 m, beside the Testa Grigia cable car) is its flagship: high enough that sessions can run in summer temperatures, scenery that makes the queue part of the day out, and access included on the official Testa Grigia ticket when the park operates.
