Reliable snowfall runs December through March, with real accumulations most years from late November and spring snow lingering into April on the shaded sides. Autumn dustings happen; they rarely stay. If your picture of the trip is white streets and loaded roofs, aim inside that window and know that early December and late March are the gamble weeks.

On the glacier (3,400+ m)

There is snow year-round. That is not a marketing line; it’s altitude arithmetic, and it’s why the SnowXperience tubing park beside Testa Grigia can run sessions in months when the village is green. Summer up top still means glacier weather - wind and cloud close things faster than temperature does - so treat any specific day as weather-permitting.

What it means for planning

Sledding on the Rotenboden run needs the winter window; roughly December into spring. Tubing needs only the glacier and a fair-weather day, any month. And the viewing platforms at the top care about cloud, not calendar - a clear January morning beats a hazy July afternoon every time.
